The committee is established to monitor and recommend hiring practices to the Civil Service Commission to achieve a higher level of minority and female employment in City government.
a. To monitor and recommend rules and regulations to achieve compliance in meeting Federal and State EEO guidelines.
b. To investigate and recommend determination(s) of any complaints alleging non-compliance with existing rules, regulation, or policies.
c. Address discrimination complaints and concerns internally, and externally
d. Ensure non-discrimination in Municipal Wellness Programs and in Group Health Plans.
e. Educational and programmatic initiatives and activities
f. Equal Business Opportunity policies
g. Monitors Fair Housing Practices & Tenant/Landlord Rights & Foreclosure Prevention
h. Limited English Proficiency (LEP)
i. Tax Abatement Policy Compliance
j. Affirmative Action Employment of Minorities and Women under City Contracts

l. To assist elected officials in adopting measures to keep peace, good order and harmony among citizens; to avoid inter-group tensions, promote good will, and ensure equality or treatment and opportunities to all, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, marital status, disability, lawful source of income, sexual orientation or gender identity.
